| What
is it all about? |
We
think that tea is a great beverage. We enjoy the endless variety it
offers, only comparable to wine. It is our mission to offer all possible
informations about tea and tea culture to our members. We organise
events on the most different topics of tea; some of them will be presented
by outstanding authorities in the tea business, others will serve
the exchange of ideas among members. With our limited resources, we
also do some public relations work towards the general public and
especially the catering business, to improve the overall situation
of tea drinkers in our country. |

| Why
has the club a French name? |
Since
1992 , there has been the French "Club des Buveurs de Thé"
in Paris. Having a very similar philosophy and objectives, it was
only reasonable to take over their name and concepts. That way, we
also belong to a "family" of European tea clubs. From the
French club's point of view, we have the status of a "Club afilié".
|
| Which
language is spoken in our club? |
Well,
we are in Switzerland, famous for its language diversity, and we
count on the flexibility of our members...
The club itself is pre-dominantly German-speaking, however, you
always will find English speaking members at events.
|
| What
are our activities? |
The
most important element of the club life are the gatherings, taking
place about 9 times per year. Each of these meetings are dedicated
to a certain topic, covering all possible aspects of tea, tea preparation
and tea culture.
We
also intend to organize tea parties, as well as trips to tea-wise
interesting destinations.
We
will also organize, or participate in, events for the general public,
to increase tea awareness. There can be also events for caterers,
to improve the general situation of tea drinkers at public facilities.
|
| Is
Lucerne the place for all events and gatherings? |
Absolutely
not! The location of the gatherings will determined by the organizing
member(s). Consequently, as we are a club for the whole of Switzerland,
the events can take place everywhere in the country.
|
| Are
there scheduled events? |
See
our events page.
|
| What
is the annual membership fee? |
CHF
150 for single members, CHF 200 for couples (same address), CHF 50
for students or people in apprentiships. |
